Charcuterie Board Guide
A charcuterie
board is all about flavours, textures, and presentation. Whether you're hosting
a large gathering or a casual night in, here’s a quick guide to assembling your
own prefect board.
1: Select A Base: A wooden board, marble slab, or large tray will all work well. Ensure it’s spacious enough to display your selection.
2: Select Your Meats: Aim for a mix of textures and flavours, with about 2-3 slices per person. Here are our recommendations:
Classico Salami Mild: Aromatic, lightly spiced and thinly sliced, this salami provides a subtle balance of flavours and adds a touch of refinement.
Sopressa Salami Hot: Bold and spicy, this salami can be sliced slightly thicker. Its distinctive shape and robust taste make it a standout choice.
Prosciutto: Delicate, elegant, and silky. Thin slices will please everyone.
Mortadella: Adds colour and visual appeal to your board.
Fennel Felino Salami: Spiced with Fennel, slice this salami on an angle to showcase its full character.
3. Add Cheeses:
Choose a variety of textures and flavours. Brie, crumbly Parmigiano-Reggiano,
and sharp Provolone are some great choices. Slice and cube the cheeses for ease
and include a cheese knife.
4. Vegetables
and Fruits: Add seasonal fruits like grapes and figs, and dried fruits such as
apricots and dates. Fresh vegetables like
cucumber, carrots, and snap peas add crispness and freshness.
5. Bread and
Crackers: Choose easy-to-eat crackers, breadsticks, or crostini in various
shapes and flavours.
6. Preserves and
Nuts: Add excitement with olives and chutneys as well as nuts, like almonds,
walnuts, or cashews.
7. Arrange:
Start by arranging the meats in different styles—fold, roll, or fan out the
salami. For prosciutto, create gentle ribbons with the fat side up. Let the
mortadella fall naturally for added texture. Position cheeses next to
complementary meats, and place bowls for olives, and preserves. Fill in gaps
with crackers, fruits, and nuts, balancing colours and shapes.
Enjoy with
family and friends!
