Ultimate BLT
Hello to the king of sandwiches. It’s layered with creamy avocado, vintage cheddar, crispy bacon, a golden fried egg, and all the fresh, juicy goodness of ripe tomato, crunchy lettuce, and red onion. Finished with a generous smear of mayo and tucked between your favourite toasted bread, this BLT is hearty, satisfying, and utterly irresistible.
Ingredients
- 2
slices sourdough, ciabatta, or your favourite sandwich bread, toasted
- 2–3
slices Re & Sons bacon
- 1–2
slices vintage cheddar cheese
- 1
egg
- ½
avocado, sliced or smashed
- 2–3
slices ripe tomato
- 1–2
lettuce leaves (baby gem, cos, or butter lettuce)
- A
few rings of red onion, thinly sliced
- 1
tbsp good-quality mayonnaise
- Salt
and pepper, to taste
- Olive
oil for frying
Method
1) Fry
the bacon in a pan over medium heat until golden and crisp. Set aside on
paper towel.
2) In
the same pan, fry the egg to your liking (sunny side up or over easy works
best). Season with salt and pepper.
3) Toast
the bread slices until golden. While warm, spread with mayonnaise on one
side of each.
4) Layer
the sandwich:
- Cheddar
cheese
- Tomato
slices
- Avocado
- Crispy
bacon
- Fried
egg
- Red
onion
- Lettuce
leaves
5) Top
with the second slice of toasted bread, press gently, and enjoy
immediately while warm and melty.
